Chefs needed for Lobster Mac N Cheese contest

Rockland — This September, come celebrate Lobsterpalooza with $10 lobster specials in restaurants throughout the Penobscot Bay region, Sept. 15-20, topped off with the 2nd annual Lobster Mac n Cheese contest Sept. 20.

Thirty professional and amateur chefs will compete for the Lobster Mac n Cheese champion award Sept. 20, 2 to 4 p.m. at the Rockland Elks Club, 210 Rankin St., Rockland. New this year! The general public will be invited to taste the professional chefs’ creations by purchasing tickets for $10.

The Maine Lobsterpalooza is seeking interested chefs to compete for the title of Lobsterpalooza Mac n Cheese Champion. Seeking 20 professional and 10 amateur chefs, this high stakes competition will crown Champion and Honorable Mention awards in both Pro and Amateur categories.

New this year, all professional chefs participating will also be asked to provide tastings to the judges and 200 ticket holders who will join the fun this year. Amateur chefs will serve judges only. Contest entries can include any original recipe desired, but must include Maine lobster, any kind of pasta and any kind of cheese. No entry fee for chefs, and discounts provided on cheese and lobster meat.
