Cheer for Windjammer hockey team, help those in need

Jan 23, 2013

Rockport — Camden Hills Regional High School Windjammer Hockey Team is offering its fans the chance to come cheer for them and help those in need at the same time.

The team is sponsoring a food drive at its Feb. 2 game to support the Camden Area Christian Food Pantry. Any non-perishable food would be appreciated, and can be dropped off at Midcoast Recreation Center during the week up until the game on Saturday night.

The pantry serves more than 1,000 people a month from Rockport, Camden, Hope, Appleton, Lincolnville, Searsmont, Union and Washington. More information about the pantry can be found at camdenfoodpantry.org.

The game should prove to be exciting as the 10-0 Windjammers host Cape Elizabeth in a rematch of the Jan. 19 game where Camden Hills won by a goal in overtime. The game starts at 6 p.m. at Midcoast Recreation Center.
