Chamber to host seminar for nonprofits, community leaders
Rockport — Chad Sclove of Common Good Ventures in Portland and Stephen Hand of Know Technology in Camden will join the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce at the Samoset for a breakfast presentation Wednesday, Sept. 25.
Together they will discuss Using Data to Drive Impact. Nonprofit and community leaders will learn how to leverage data to support their strategy and operations, from best management practices to the infrastructure needed for data security.
As technology advances and business practices evolve, data is increasingly important to building sustainable models to impact social issues. Relevant, reliable data can inform both strategy and managing operations. However, nonprofits face unique challenges to investing in technology and processes to track, store, and use data, as resources are increasingly scarce.
The presentation will include networking opportunities, as well as: frameworks for using data toward social impact and approaches to creating and maintaining the infrastructure needed to leverage data.
Chamber breakfasts are sponsored by Allen Insurance and Financial and are designed to cover trends and issues affecting the local business community. Each event features a speaker of public/business interest and well as networking during breakfast.
