Cellardoor Winery’s Art Collector Maine Dinner, January 5, Celebrates Cuisine of Chef Mitchell Kaldrovich, Paintings of Stephanie Bartron-Miscione
The natural treasures of the Maine Coast — edible and otherwise — will take center stage at Cellardoor Winery’s second Art Collector Maine Dinner on Saturday, January 5, at 5:30 p.m. in Lincolnville.
To be held in the Winery’s beautiful new farmhouse space, the evening will feature the art of Stephanie Bartron-Miscione, whose still lifes often depict the variety of shells, sea life, plants, and flotsam that she finds on walks along the beach near her Deer Isle home. Working in graphite, colored pencil, watercolor, gouache, pastel, pen and ink, and acrylic, the artist describes her style as “slow realism” because she takes time to carefully study and capture the intimate details and colors of her subjects.
A four-course dinner designed to complement Bartron-Miscione’s art will be prepared by Chef Mitchell Kaldrovich of Sea Glass Restaurant at Inn by the Sea. It will feature seafood ceviche, butter-poached lobster, and hazelnut-crusted scallops. Rounding out the menu will be red-wine braised short ribs and baked apple crostata. Chef Kaldrovich, who grew up in Argentina, brings an international sensibility to his preparations of Maine ingredients, always using a subtle touch to let their natural flavors and goodness shine through. Cellardoor’s winemakers will present a selection of Cellardoor wines to accompany each course.
Tickets for the dinner, at $100 per person including wines, are limited, and advance purchase is required. To reserve seats for this special evening, call 763-4478. To view the entire menu, visit http://mainewine.com/events/art-collector-maine-series.
