'Celebration on Ice' skaters perform Dec. 8 at MRC

Rockport — The Skating Association of Maine will present its annual “Celebration on Ice” show Saturday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. at the Midcoast Recreation Center.

The exhibition features the talents of many local figure skaters performing to holiday music. The newly-formed Theater on Ice group will perform to a medley from "The Nutcracker."

The basic skills groups will skate to classics like “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” “Jingle Bells,” and “We Need a Little Christmas.” Talented duets and trios will “Jingle Bell Rocking” their way to an “Extraordinary Merry Christmas.”

The four featured soloists include Priscilla Partridge, Kimberly Roman, Elena Laustsen and McKenzie Abendroth, an accomplished competitive skater, as well as an emergency room physician.

Santa is expected to take the ice around 6 p.m. when, after showing off his fancy moves, he will invite the audience to skate with him.

Tickets can be purchased at the door. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Children under age 3 are admitted free.

Ashley is celebrating her 10th year on ice !! I am sure that the show will be awesome !!
