Celebration for health, healing

Feb 07, 2013

Rockland — The public is invited to an evening of fun, food and dance on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Rockland Congregational Church at 180 Limerock St.

Dr. Dirk Vandersloot will open the event with a talk about his healing journey through cancer, “This is my story, this is my medicine," The Integrative Healing Possibilities with Cancer.

Vandersloot joined The Center for Health and Healing in Rockland in 1992 where he practices complimentary medicine and homeopathy. Though a hard working physician, like many who made insurance choices when young and healthy he has discovered that his coverage has significant limitations.

Doors open at 3:30 p.m. for socializing, exciting silent auction items and mini body/energy work — including chair massage, Reiki, Jin Shin Jyutsu and Reflexology which will be available throughout the evening. Vandersloot will speak at 4:30 p.m. Around 6 p.m. there will be a delicious, organic meal with a DJ and dancing to follow later in the evening. Childcare will also be provided.

This event promises to be a warm and wonderful cabin fever reliever. If unable to attend, donations can be mailed to A Celebration for Health and Healing, PO Box 192, Rockport, ME 04856, or via PayPal @ celebrationforhealthandhealing@gmail.com.
