Celebrating the non-end of the world

Dec 26, 2012

Camden — Open Mic Night is back by popular demand at The Rig, 56A Elm St./Route 1. A Still Alive Open Mic will celebrate surviving the predicted end of the world Friday, Jan. 4 from 7 to 10 p.m.

The evening will showcase casual live music performances; refreshments will be provided. All musicians and music genres are welcome to the event, which is free and open to the public. Organizers said there is no need to sign up, just show up.

The Rig is a meeting place for those in ninth to 12th grades that provides opportunity for local youth to develop connection with themselves, with one another and with the community. Members of The Rig create policy, facilitate meetings, decide what events to pursue, fundraise and get the word out. The Rig hosts other clubs and organizations such as the Interact Club, YOUTHMove ME and Camden Hills Regional High School’s The CREW.
