Celebrate the healing power of nature in October
Camden — Celebrate Naturopathic Medicine Week in the Midcoast. Join local naturopathic doctors in celebration of the U.S. Senate’s unanimous passage of a resolution that establishes Oct. 7-13 as Naturopathic Medicine Week.
Naturopathic medicine is a form of medicine that: considers the whole person, focuses on the causes of illness, not just the symptoms, emphasizes prevention and ongoing wellness, uses natural treatments that are less invasive and less expensive than conventional drugs and surgery.
In the Midcoast, Dr.'s Deb Moskowitz and Barb MacDonald, from Camden Whole Health, invite folks to come visit during the week to get more information, receive free samples, schedule a free 15-minute get-acquainted visit, receive 5 percent off nutritional supplements and botanical prescriptions as well as $20 off all new-patient office visits. In addition, Dr. Anne Jacobs, who practices in Newcastle is offering a $15 sauna special.
“Naturopathic Medicine Week is taking place all across the country the second week of October and we are excited to join in the celebration,” said Moskowitz in a news release. “From weight management and diabetes to allergies, Lyme disease to cancer and digestion to bone health, patients of naturopathic physicians are able to realize improved health and optimal wellness through the principles and practices of naturopathic medicine.” said MacDonald.
The celebration is boosted with the US Senate’s unanimous passage of a resolution that established Oct. 7-13 as Naturopathic Medicine Week. This is the first time Congress has recognized the ability of naturopathic physicians to “provide safe, effective, and affordable health care” and to play an essential role in addressing the nation’s pressing shortage of primary care physicians.
