Celebrate the harvest moon on Beech Hill
Rockport — Coastal Mountains Land Trust and the Camden Public Library will team up to celebrate the full Harvest Moon and the Great Maine Outdoor Weekend on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Beech Hill Preserve.
Land Trust volunteers will open Beech Nut, the historic sod-roofed stone hut on top of Beech Hill preserve, for this special evening open house. Miss Amy, children’s librarian at Camden Public Library, will read star stories in the firelit hut at 7 p.m., and the library’s circulating telescope will be available to view the full moon up close. Be sure to bring a blanket to sit on and a flashlight to help guide the way up and down the three-quarters mile hike.

With a focus on low cost, introductory-level activities the weekend-long event promotes outdoor activities for all ages and abilities. For more information visit greatmaineoutdoorweekend.org.
