CCT auditions ‘Lion in Winter’

Camden — Camden Civic Theatre has announced auditions for its first production of the 2013 season, “The Lion in Winter” by James Goldman. Auditions will be held Monday and Tuesday, March 4 and 5, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., on the third floor of the downtown Camden Opera House.

Auditions will be “cold reads” from the script. The well-known play is a historic comedy/drama set during the time of Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine. There are parts for five men, age 17 to late 50s and early 60s; and two women, one in her late teens or early 20s and one in her 60s (aging can be done via makeup).

The production will run Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., May 10 through 18; and Sunday, May 19, at 2 p.m. For more information, contact director Paul Aron Weintraub by email to paulw@midcoast.com or through the CCT website, camdencivictheatre.com.
