Cash for Clothes sale begins Oct. 20
Camden — The semi-annual Cash for Clothes Sale to benefit Coastal Opportunities will be held Saturday, Oct. 20 through Monday, Oct. 22, at the American Legion Hall located on 91 Pearl St. in Camden.
Shoppers will find two floors of good quality fall and winter clothing at bargain prices. There’s plenty of free parking too. The Opening Sale will be held on Saturday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Half Price Sale will be held on Sunday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Finally, the Bag Sale will be held on Monday, Oct. 22 from 7 to 11 a.m.
The Cash for Clothes Sale is the major community fundraising event to benefit Coastal Opportunities, an agency providing services to autistic or developmentally-disabled adults in the Knox County area.
For the first time in Cash for Clothes’ 38-year history, two area businesses have come forward to co-sponsor the sale. Allen Insurance & Financial and Bangor Savings Bank will be underwriting a significant portion of the operating costs associated with staging the Cash for Clothes fall sale. Nancy Wolfertz and Cathy VanDyke, general co-chairs of Cash for Clothes said in a news release, “We are extremely grateful to Allen Insurance & Financial and Bangor Savings Bank for providing these sponsorships, as their financial support will allow our committee to donate more of the sale’s proceeds to Coastal Opportunities.”
Cash for Clothes enthusiastically welcomes clothing donations throughout the year and volunteers to work on various aspects of the spring and fall sales. Both are wonderful ways to contribute to the community, help clients of Coastal Opportunities and meet new people. Volunteers who work four or more hours qualify to attend the Cash for Clothes Pre-Sale. To donate clothing, volunteer, or those with questions about Cash for Clothes, please call Coastal Opportunities at 236-6008.
