Carroll C. Peasley
Owls Head — Carroll Charles Peasley, 69, of Owls Head passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, in Lewiston, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born June 1, 1943, in Camden, he was the son of Nathan G. and Anna F. (Burrill) Peasley.
He was educated in Rockport schools, graduating from Rockport High School with the class of 1961. He served briefly in the U.S. Army, and in 1963 Carroll graduated from Southern Maine Technical School with a degree in machine tool technology. For many years, Carroll lived in Connecticut where he worked at Chandler Evans in West Hartford, Conn., as a machinist. In 1990, he moved to the Midcoast and worked at Knox Machine Company in Warren and also at Peasley Electric in Camden, which was owned by his brother Marvin.
His hobbies including scuba diving, kayaking the waters of Penobscot Bay and gathering sea glass along the shore.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the many caregivers at D'Youville Pavilion in Lewiston for their compassionate care during Carroll’s illness.
Surviving is his son Jeffrey M. Peasley of Tolland, Conn.; daughter, Kathy Centurelli of Wethersfield, Conn.; grandchildren; Madison Peasley, Thomas Peasley, Sophia Centurelli and Zach Centurelli; brothers Nathan Peasley of Owls Head, Sidney Peasley of Thomaston; sister Patricia Peasley of South Portland; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased his parents and his brother Marvin Peasley, who died Sept. 14, 2008.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Long Funeral Home, 9 Mountain St., Camden. A graveside service will take place in the spring at Mountain View Cemetery in Camden.
