The John Street United Methodist Church, 98 John Street, Camden, cordially invites the public to this year’s Carols in the Round concert given by the Chamber Singers from Mount View High School in Thorndike, Maine.  The singers will perform Carols in the Round at 4 pm, Saturday, December 14.

Students are selected by audition to sing with the traveling group and perform at more than twenty locations between the end of November and the week of Christmas, where they offer their holiday music in candlelit settings, primarily churches.  The four part harmony of well-trained voices is very impressive coming from the singers surrounding their audiences.  Also, between selections the group rotates, so each voice comes from a different direction on successive numbers.

David Stevenson has directed this chorus for a number of years, and has traveled with the group to sing before many cultures in various locations.  Of course, each year the composition of the singers changes as seniors graduate and new members assume their places.

Admission is free, however a free will offering will be taken to defray the expenses of the program.  Also, CD’s to benefit the group will be available to buy the day of the concert.
