It will be Mystic Seaport Night at Fenway Park July 18, for a "Whale of a Game."  Captain Richard 'Kip' Files will throw the first pitch at the Sox-Kansas City Royals game.  In preparation, the Captain is reportedly warming up his pitching arm on the deck of the whaler, Charles W. Morgan.  The Morgan will be berthed next to the U.S. Constitution "Old Ironsides" in Boston Harbor.

The Morgan's whaling career spanned 80 years with each voyage lasting 2 to 4 years. The barque, underwent a 5-year, $12 million restoration, and this is the ship's first, and only, voyage in nearly 100 years.  Mystic Seaport has a voyage chart accessible at http://www.mysticseaport.org/38thvoyage/chart/, and solid information about the history of the Charles W. Morgan and the restoration process. Spectacular archival footage of the Morgan to be found at http://www.westislandweather.com/charleswmorgan.htm

The National Park Service website offers the long list of activities that will take place at the Charlestown Navy Yard in Boston, Massachusetts, during the Charles W. Morgan's visit July 18-22, 2014, hosted by  http://www.nps.gov/bost/planyourvisit/charles-w-morgan.htm
