Cappy's hosts fundraising dinner for Meals on Wheels

Camden — On Wednesday March 5, a fundraising dinner for MCH Meals on Wheels will be held at Cappy’s Chowder House.

Eat dinner between 5 and 9 p.m. and Cappy’s will donate up to half of the night’s food sales to MCH Meals on Wheels.

The Cappy’s benefit is part of March for Meals, a month long campaign to raise awareness and funds to help seniors in Knox County, one of the oldest counties in Maine, which is the oldest state in the nation. Caring for seniors in a community issue that needs community support. For more than 40 years, MCH Meals on Wheels’ volunteer drivers have been providing hot meals and daily interaction to home bound seniors, serving more than 120 seniors Monday to Friday.

“I like all the vegetable dishes Meals on Wheels brings me and the sense of security,” said Linda Wirtz of Washington. “I know someone is going to look in on me everyday.”

Volunteers, staff and board members will be on hand at Cappy’s to answer questions about MCH Meals on Wheels. Everyone is invited to attend, the more people who come out to support MCH Meals on Wheels, the more Cappy’s will donate to the nonprofit.
