Rockland — A third candidate has entered the race for the Rockland City Council in the Nov. 6 election.
Harold "Dale" Hayward of North Main Street has joined incumbent Brian Harden of Traverse Street and challenger Frank Isganitis of Limerock Street as contenders for the one three-year City Council seat.
Nancy Jeffers of Tea Street and incumbent Esther Kilgour of Beech Street are running for the two three-year seats on the Regional School Unit 13 board.
Meanwhile, incumbent Doug Curtis Sr. of Summer Street is seeking another five-year term on the Port District board.
Teisha Jones of Robinson Street is a candidate for another one-year term as election warden.
These candidates have all taken out papers, but only Harden, Jeffers, Kilgour and Curtis have returned theirs, as of Sept. 18, said City Clerk Stuart Sylvester.
A seat remains open for a one-year term as ward clerk.
The filing deadline is Monday, Sept. 24.
