Candidate forum on K-12 education Sept. 11

Aug 20, 2014

Camden — The public is invited to attend a regional candidates' forum focused on education that is being held in the Midcoast.

It is being co-sponsored by the Maine School Superintendents Association and Maine School Boards Association and will focus on issues affecting public education, from funding to local control over school policy.

The forum is being held Thursday, Sept. 11, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Camden Hills Regional High School Lecture Hall.

All the candidates running for the Maine House and Senate in the Midcoast have been invited to attend this forum. Candidates will be given an overview of some of the key issues facing public education in Maine and then asked to talk about their priorities and answer questions.

This forum is an opportunity for the public and the candidates to get to know each other. The hope is it will open up lines of communication to help make sure the bills that get passed in Augusta are in the best interest of students.

Please RSVP by emailing msma@msmaweb.com or by calling 1-800-660-8484.
