Camden's Riverwalk and Public Landing - final community meeting
After many, many individual meetings and 3 community wide meetings, the 4th and final community meeting for the riverwalk and Public Landing design project has been set for Monday September 16th 6:30PM at the Camden Rockport Middle School on Knowlton Street. Anyone interested in this project is encouraged to attend this important meeting. The turnout for each of the community meetings has been large. Because of the large turnout we anticipate for this final community meeting, please begin arriving at 6PM to register, visit with your neighbors, view the displays, and find a seat.
This meeting will be a chance for the consultants to share a nearly final version of the riverwalk designs as well as redesigns for the Public Landing. Even though every individual suggestion shared throughout this process may not be included, we are confident that the overall designs will address the key points that were expressed during each of the listening sessions and one on one interviews.
Similar to the Downtown Master Plan, these designs will incorporate elements recommended by the consultants through their efforts and analysis over the past 6 months. Once the final plans are delivered to the Town in October, we will then decide how and when to implement them. It is possible there will be elements included in the overall design that we don't implement, either immediately or at all. The plans should not be viewed as "all or none". Attendees are encouraged to look at the plans in their entirety rather than focusing on a specific element.
