Camden-Rockport Middle School students to walk, bike to school
On Wednesday, Oct. 17, Camden-Rockport Middle School will celebrate International Walk & Bike to School Month.
Hundreds of Maine school children will walk or bike to school with family members, school staff and volunteers in celebration of International Walk to School Month.
Students are encouraged to bike or walk from home, if possible. School buses will drop students off a few blocks before the school to let out students who will walk the final distance to school. School staff and volunteers will be at the temporary bus stops, the walking drop off and along the routes.
Knowlton Street will be closed during the event and bus students will be dropped off at the Tannery lot on Washington Street and parents can drop students off at the Tannery lot or on the parking lot-side of the First Congregational Church on Free Street.
For those biking to school, helmets must be worn.
