Camden man summoned for unlawful sexual contact
Camden — A Camden man was charged with unlawful sexual contact and furnishing liquor to a minor Wednesday, Oct. 16.
Shane Weed, 27, of Camden was charged, but not arrested, after a brief investigation that included interviews and witness statements, according to Camden Police Detective Curt Andrick. The victim is a female under the age of 18 and a lack of consent was a factor, police said.
“It seems that the incident may have taken place at a party type situation where alcoholic beverages were present,” Andrick said.
The crime occurred in early August and if convicted, Weed could face up to a year in jail.
Unlawful sexual contact and furnishing liquor to a minor are class D crimes and are punishable up to 364 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.
