Carolyn Horne’s mixed media “Dual Self Portrait” will hang at the Portland Museum of Art in March.

Portland — Two Camden Hills Regional High School students have had their artwork selected for the annual Youth Art Month student exhibition at Portland Museum of Art, March 1 through 31. March is National Youth Art Month, and the Portland Museum of Art and the Maine Art Education Association collaborate on this special presentation of student artwork from across the state of Maine.

Rose Flanagan’s drawing “Skeleton” and Claire Horne’s mixed media “Dual Self Portrait” have been chosen for the exhibit. Flanagan, a freshman, is a student in Carolyn Brown’s drawing class. Horne, a senior, is a student in Suzanne Southworth’s Advanced Art Portfolio class.

A reception for students, their families and teachers will be held Saturday, March 2, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. pm in the Great Hall of the downtown museum, 7 Congress Square. At the same ceremony, Brown will be recognized as Maine Outstanding Educator 2013 by the Maine Art Education Association. For more information, visit portlandmuseum.org.
