Camden — The graduating class of 2014 at Camden Hills Regional High School took to the street Monday, June 2, for the traditional Baccalaureate march, which ends at the congregational church on Elm Street in Camden with a service for students and families.

Led by bag pipes, school officials and local clergy, students marched from the gym at Camden-Rockport Middle School on Knowlton Street to Mechanic Street, across Tannery Lane to Main Street.

The seniors then wound their way through downtown to the Congregational Church for the Baccalaureate ceremony.

Spectators lined the street, cheering on graduates before following them to the church. While traffic remained at a standstill during the march, several drivers showed appreciation for the milestone event with honking horns, drawing return cheers from students.

Such a pleasure to see the finale efforts of graduates who go on to fill a void in our society of knowledgeable and talented adults.
