Camden Hills previews ‘The Great Gatsby’

Rockport — The theater students of Camden Hills Regional High School invites their community to preview their entry to the 2013 Maine Drama Festival. The troupe’s one-act version of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby” will be presented Friday, March 1, and Wednesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in the Strom Auditorium of the school, Route 90.

Advised by faculty member Margaux DePue, student Duncan Hall is directing the production, which boasts 18 cast members and a technical staff of more than twice as many, helmed by faculty member Tom Heath. As per drama fest requirements, the play runs no more than 40 minutes and the set must be put up/taken down in five.

Admission at the door will be $5. Camden Hills will compete in Class A Saturday night, March 9, during the final session of the Midcoast regional at Oceanside High School (East) in Rockland. Camden Hills will host the Class A state finals Friday and Saturday, March 22 and 23.
