Camden Hills pillage Raiders, return to .500 on campaign

Sabattus — The Camden Hills boys lacrosse team traveled to Sabattus to square off with Oak Hill on Wednesday, May 21 in a match that saw the Windjammers earn an 8-3 win and improve to .500 on the season.

Jonah Cameron scored two goals to lead Camden Hills, while Marshall Spear, Cyrus Demmons, Keiran Lydon, Kai Hart, Grayson Szumilas and Jack Orne each tallied one.

Aiden Gordon played in goal for Camden Hills.

Windjammer coach Mark Hannibal said his team “dominated scooping ground balls and played really tight defense with Aiden in the net and defensemen Sean Beacham, a captain, poking free many balls and taking them coast to coast.”

In the Maine Principals' Association Heal Point Standings for Eastern Class B, Camden Hills (4-4, 12.9861 points) is sixth, while Maranacook/Winthrop (8-0, 52.0833 points) is first in the 12-team region. The top eight teams qualify for the playoffs.
