Rockport — The Camden Hills Regional High School boys junior varsity basketball team had a strong year on the hardwood during the 2012-13 campaign.

The Windjammers, led by veteran coach Paul MacDonald, finished with an impressive 14-3 record and averaged 62 points per game.

"We were solid defensively, holding most of our opponent in the 40-point range," said MacDonald. "A few games we held opponents to less than 40. [We had a] great team effort [this season].

Team members included Dalton Oakes, Cameron Gushee, Will Barrows, Michael Wolff, Jack Gallagher, Field Leonard, Ryan Pierce, Merrill Hall, Bill Bracher, Andrew Hall and John Hall.

The 'Jammers played mostly transition basketball this season, sticking primarily to man-to-man defense with several variations of halfcourt and fullcourt zone presses.

MacDonald added that the team was comprised of a "great group of young men" and their "team and individual work ethic is right where it should be."

"Each [team] member received ample playing time and were afforded the opportunity to hone their basketball and life skills throughout the season, which I believe they took full advantage of," said the coach.
