Camden Hills is looking for host families
Rockport — Camden Hills Regional High School is seeking two families who are interested in hosting an international student during the 2014-15 school year.
One of the students is a girl from Camden Hills' sister school in Chongqing, China.
“She is a delightful young lady who has good English skills. She will be entering as a junior,” said Camden Hills Principal Dr. Nick Ithomitis,”The other student is a boy who lives in Beijing, China. He, too, is a charming young man who will be coming to us a junior.”
Ithomitis said though families who can host a student for a full year are preferred, school staff is willing to place students in families who can only host for one semester. To help offset the cost of hosting, host families will receive $650 a month.
“The international students we have in the past have all been great additions to our school and community,” he said. “We anticipate these students will be just as friendly and personable.”
Ithomitis said he knows hosting a foreign student is a big commitment, but it can also be extremely rewarding.
Anyone interested in hosting one of these students, should contact Ithomitis at firstname.lastname@example.org or 236-7800 ext. 254.
