Camden Hills bands hold Spring Concert

Rockport — The Camden Hills Regional High School bands will hold their annual Spring Concert Tuesday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in the Strom Auditorium of the high school, Route 90. Groups to be featured include the Concert and Jazz bands.

Repertoire will include works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Duke Ellington and many more. Senior tuba player, Alex Crans, will be the featured soloist on the “Old Grumbly Bear,” written by famous Czechoslovakian march composer Julius Fucik. Soloists with the jazz band include Aaron Nolan, Cooper Krause, Matt Eaton, Brennan Callen, Shawn Albertson and Chandler Crans.

Eighth grade students from Union No. 69 and Camden-Rockport Middle School will join the Camden Hills Concert Band for its final piece, “Watermelon Man” by Herbie Hancock. Admission to the concert is free.
