Fourth of July fireworks scheduled for Camden have been canceled and will not be rescheduled for another day, according to a July 3 press release from Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce.

"We regret to announce that the Camden Fireworks display will not be offered on the 4th or 5th of July this year. The fireworks company has confirmed that with the potential rain they cannot shoot them off the barge in the Camden Harbor on Friday, and with the sea conditions that are anticipated, they cannot shoot from the barge on Saturday," the release states.

All other activities will go on as planned at this time, including the Thomaston fireworks display. For a schedule of other events, visit mainedreamvacation.com/chamber-blog/2014-festival-of-independence-schedule. Those with questions or comments may contact PBRCC Executive Director Staci Coomer at 236-4404.

Camden Rotary Club’s Music by the Sea program, originally set for Camden Harbor Park, will be held at the Rockport Opera House Friday. All are welcome to this free event, which includes four performances between 2 and 9 p.m. Refreshments will be available for sale.
