Call for summer show in Port Clyde
Port Clyde — Ocean House Hotel and Gallery is accepting submissions for its upcoming summer exhibition “Port Clyde and Monhegan,” curated by Angela Anderson Pomerleau. Paintings, photographs, sculptures and works in all media inspired by Maine will be considered, up to 24 inches in any dimension.
The Ocean House, located at 870 Port Clyde Road/Route 131 in the village, is a regular stop for visitors staying on the St. George peninsula. The Ocean House hosts exhibits of original artwork every summer by local artists from Port Clyde, Monhegan Island and the surrounding Midcoast area.
A maximum of 12 images may be sent for review, emailed as jpgs to email@example.com. The email should provide title, price and frame description. All wall art must be ready to hang, and 3-D pieces on a finished base.
Although entries will be reviewed throughout the summer, initial selections will be made June 10. Notices of acceptance will be made by June 12 via email and must be delivered by June 14, 10 a.m. to noon. Subsequent entries will be placed according to available space. There is no fee to apply. A commission will be taken for any sales, and artists are expected to bring a dish to share at the opening reception. The first opening will take place on a Friday in June yet to be determined.
Pomerleau has Woman on Wire, the Circus Series, in a solo show of paintings on view through May 31 at Camden Public Library. She also teaches painting and is from Port Clyde, going back five generations in the fishing community. For more information, visit angelaandersonpaintings.com.
