Bull on the loose in Warren
Warren — Two bovines scheduled for slaughter at Curtis Custom Meats Friday, Sept. 14 had other plans.
The bulls, owned by farmer Robert Orff, escaped as they were unloaded at Curtis' and made a run for it in the area surrounding the facility — traveling on Beechwood Street and Route 90, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office responded to the scene and the chase for one bull lasted about an hour. When discovered, the 1,000-pound animal was put down by officers to avoid a potential vehicle accident on Route 90 in Warren.
Deputy John Hansen said the other bull was still unaccounted for and that officers would continue the search and attempt to corral the animal.
