Kindergarten Screening and registration at Morse on Wednesday, April 16th. Attention parents of children that will turn 5 years old on or before October 15th 2014. Please contact the school at 722-3636 to schedule an appointment and ask for Maria. Please make sure to have an original birth certificate with the raised seal, proof of residency in the form of a tax bill, lease or rental agreement or utility bill as well as immunization records.

Marsh River Theater

The Marsh River Theater has announced its 2014 season. The year will include:The Marsh River Singers "Xanadu, The Musical", "Really Rosie" a childrens production, "Our Town", "The Complete Works of Shakespeare(abridged)", The Marsh River Glee Club, "Leading Ladies" and "A Christmas Carol, a 1940's radio show" Visit www.marshrivertheater.org for more information. New Hardware Store

Recently I had the opportunity to talk with Kyle Gibbs about the new Gibbs Family Hardware Store set to open on the corner of Hall Hill Rd and rt 7. The 6000 square foot store will open as soon as the weather permits them to be able to start construction. I cant wait.

Easter Egg Hunt

The Brooks Park Boosters will be holding the 4th annual easter egg hunt on Saturday April 19th at the Community Park, weather permitting. The easter egg hunt has been sponsored this year by, The brooks Booster Club, Ralph's Café, The Jackson Food Pantry, Susan Champa and Kris Beirne, Thank you so much for your support in helping keep this event free of charge. The egg hunt will begin at 11 am sharp this year and I would encourage people so show up early as the over 1200 eggs tend to go fast.

The Grange Flea Market

The Brooks harvest Home Grange will be having a flea market on Saturday April 12th. Stop by to get some goodies.

Bed Race

This year on Memorial Day weekend, many activities and events will be taking place, and one of them will be the first annual Brooks Bed Race. The race will take place on Purple Heart Hwy between the 4 corners and school street. You will need a team of 5, one on the bed and 4 on each post. Each team an supply their own bed on wheels or they can use one of the two beds that will be built for the race. There will be an entry fee and awards will be given. So get a team together and start building your bed. For more info call Jane at the town office or Mike at 722-3893.

Developmental assets are the positive experiences, values, behaviors, and relationships that enable young people to thrive.

Healthy Waldo County and the Community Anti-Drug Coalition are asking for your help in identifying Asset Champions in Waldo County who are doing extraordinary work, either as a professional or volunteer.
