'Bread and Tulips' on film series menu

Thomaston — Friends of the Thomaston Public Library presents its Friday Night Film Series with screenings Fridays at 6:30 p.m. in the community room of Thomaston Public Library in the Thomaston Academy Building, 60 Main St./Route 1. The theme for November’s movies is French and Italian Comedy.

The Nov. 16 film is "Bread and Tulips", a 116-minute film from 2000. An unhappy housewife (Licia Maglietta) who is taken for granted by her philandering, self-centered husband (Antonio Catania) finds "bella fortuna" when accidentally left behind while on vacation with her family. She hitchhikes to Venice and starts to construct a brand-new life for herself. This acclaimed romantic comedy serves as a remonder it is never too late to bloom.

Friday Night Films are open to the public and free of charge, but donations are gratefully accepted. The Thomaston Academy Building is handicapped accessible from the rear entrance and light refreshments will be served. For more information, call the library at 354-2453.
