Bowls to fill for food pantries

Medomak Valley fine art students have made the vessels for the annual Empty Bowl Supper.

Waldoboro — The 10th annual Empty Bowl Supper and food pantry benefit is set for Wednesday, April 3, at 5 p.m. at Medomak Valley High School, Manktown Road.

The school’s art students have made the event’s handmade bowls, none of which will be pre-sold. Attendees will select a bowl to take home, fill it with delicious homemade soup, add a side of salad, bread, dessert and something to drink and enjoy dinner, all for $10.

The line will start at 5 p.m. and bowl selection is first come, first served. There also will be a large bowl and a large pitcher for raffle at $2 a ticket. All proceeds will be donated to the local food pantry.

Raffle tickets are available to purchase ahead of time for those who cannot make it to the supper. Those who would like to make a donation are asked to contact fine arts instructor Ken Martin at 832-5389 or Ken_Martin@msad40.org.

Courier Publications’ A&E Editor Dagney C. Ernest can be reached at (207) 594-4401, ext. 115 or dernest@courierpublicationsllc.com.
