Book donations benefit Waldoboro library
Waldoboro — Donations of books to the Waldoboro Public Library provide a multitude of benefits.
Once the books are donated to the library they are sorted, distributed and either added to the collection or sold by way of the Book Barn, the Village Bakery, or online. It's a win-win situation which ever route the book takes. Not to be overlooked in this process is how some of the donated books go to the food pantry for distribution, providing another educational opportunity from the library to the community.
Volunteers and the library staff are ready to accept donations of gently used books. It would be most appreciated if donors of a large collection would contact the library before bringing the boxes in. Please call the library at 832-4484. Other donations of one or two bags may be delivered to the library during open hours: Mondays and Thursdays, noon to 7 p.m., Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., closed Sundays and Tuesdays.
Donations are also accepted at the Book Barn at 995 Main St. on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
