Rockland — Perfection is a difficult thing to achieve at any level, but Camden-Rockport Little League all-star pitcher Lucas Boetsch proved flawless on the mound in a recent District 2 exhibition game against Knox Suburban.

Participating in the District 2 11- and 12-year-old all-star tournament, Boetsch tossed a perfect game June 23 in a 1-0 win over Knox Suburban in exhibition play at Gordon Field in Rockland.

Boetsch struck out 11 batters and the C-R infield had seven putouts to back the hurler.

The lone run of the contest came in the bottom of the third inning on a sacrifice fly by James Orne, who plated teammate Jesse Fraser.

The District 2 11-12 baseball tournament officially begins Monday, July 1.
