Board of Appeals hearing in response to court order postponed
Appleton — The Board of Appeals special meeting and public hearing scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 26, was postponed to Tuesday, Sept. 9, because a quorum of Appeals Board members was not present.
Currently, there are three sitting members on the five-member panel. Chairman Stanley Millay and member Jim McBrian were present; the other member, Joe Cammelieri, was absent. Town Office staff tried to call him at the time of the meeting, but did not reach him.
Millay opened the meeting and waited a few minutes to see if Cammelieri would show up. When he did not, the meeting was recessed until the new date.
Former Appeals Board members James Dorsky and Anthony Prest recently resigned.
The purpose of the hearing was to comply with a Knox County Superior Court order requiring the Board of Appeals to deny a variance of setback from public right of way granted to Appleton Ridge Construction LLC.
