Bluesy Halloween with Juke Joint 5
Rockland — The weekly blues series at Time Out Pub, 275 Main St., continues Monday, Oct. 28 with the annual Halloween party. The Juke Joint 5 will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. in the upstairs music room. Admission is $10.
The Juke Joint 5 promises down-home, old-school, no-nonsense, house-rocking, kick-ass electric blues. Their high-energy music and dedication to the roots of the blues explores the vocal feel and guitar mastery of the Mississippi Delta and Chicago’s Golden Age; the raw horn-driven urban jump bands of the 1940s and ‘50s; and the ecstatic irreverence of early rock ‘n’ roll, with a dash of rockabilly twang.
Upcoming in the Monday Night Blues series are: Nov. 4, Toni Lynn Washington ($10); Nov. 11, Willie J. Laws Band ($10); Nov. 18, Roborto Morboilo from Italy ($10); Nov. 25, Tas Cru ($10); and Dec. 2, the Blues Year Eve last show of 2013, Charlie A’Court ($10).
