Blueberry Cove Camp open house June 21

Jun 16, 2014
Blueberry Cove Camp Director Ryan LaShane and chef Barbara Shay are all smiles as they receive a $1,000 check from Friends of St. George Secretary Anita Siegenthaler, right.

Tenants Harbor — Blueberry Cove Camp will hold an open house Saturday, June 21, from 3 to 6 p.m.

The open house will provide children, parents and the public with a preview of the gardens, trails, boats, and cabins that comprise the 25-acre campus.

Day camp as well as overnight camping are offered for children from ages 4 to 14 through a variety of programs at both Blueberry Cove in Tenants Harbor and Tanglewood 4-H Camp and Learning Center in Lincolnville. Shuttle service is provided from several area locations.

Friends of St. George donated $1,000, which will fund two fourth-grade students from the St. George School for a week of overnight camping.

This is the third year that a Friends donation has supported local St. George students. For students in general, there is a sliding scale of fees for both the overnight and day camp sessions.

Donations help to support these reduced fees for applicants who meet the criteria. For more information, go to umaine.edu/tanglewood and to friendsofstgeorge.org.
