Blackman completes basic training

U.S. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Clifford R. Blackman graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate's in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Blackman earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Linda S. and Richard A. Blackman of Waldoboro.

The airman is a 2006 graduate of Medomak Valley High School, Waldoboro. He earned an bachelor's degree in 2010 from Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester, N.H.
