Black Raiders rock Windjammer boats, surge to winCrosby accounts for all 14 Camden Hills points
Rockport — The Camden Hills football team may have opened the 2013 season with two home games, but the Windjammers could not have had tougher opponent draws in their first two weeks of gridiron play.
After falling to Waterville last week, the Windjammers welcomed Winslow, who advanced to the state Class C final a year ago, to Don Palmer Field on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 14.
Unfortunately for the Windjammers (0-2), the results were similar to the previous week's as the hosts could not keep up with the Black Raiders (2-0) in a 55-14 defeat.
Halfback Taylor Crosby accounted for the entire Windjammer point production Saturday, cashing in both touchdowns and adding a two-point conversion. He rushed for 52 yards on 14 carries, while Connor Graffam (15 yards on 4 carries) also chipped in for the hosts.
Nick Rozsahegyi struggled against the talented Black Raider defense, throwing three interceptions while going 6-of-14 under center for 42 yards. Graffam also completed 3-of-4 attempts for seven yards.
Jacob Chamberlain made three catches for 30 yards, while Graffam made three catches for 12 yards and Crosby had a six-yard reception.
Camden Hills scored on its first possession of the game thanks, in part, to a nice reception and run by Chamberlain as Crosby found the end zone later in the drive. The sophomore's second touchdown came in the second half.
Leading the Windjammer defense were Marty Farrell (solo tackle), Mike Wolff (solo tackle, assisted tackle), Brian Jones (4 solos, assist), Corey Morris (solo, assist), Crosby (3 solos, assist), Rozsahegyi (3 solos), Elvis Bowen (solo), Nate Pascal (2 solos, assist), Graffam (4 solos, 3 assists), Wyatt Summers (2 solos, 2 assists), Josiah Farrell (solo, assist), Trevor Fowles (solo, assist), Wyatt Parra (4 solos, 2 assists), Colt Muir (2 solos, 3 assists), Kaylo Littlejohn (7 solos, assist), Alex Switzer (2 solos, 2 assists), Noah Botley (3 solos, 2 assists), Dawson Lane (3 solos), Cam LaFleche (3 solos, assist), Brian Clement (3 solos, assist) and Alex Winn (solo, assist).
