Birding field trip to Pemaquid

Jan 20, 2014

Rockland — On Saturday, Jan. 25, Don Reimer, local birding expert and columnist for The Free Press, will lead a birding field trip to Pemaquid Point.

Participants will be looking for ducks and other seabirds. Previous trips to this location have yielded Black-legged Kittiwakes, Razorbills, Purple Sandpipers, Great Cormorants and Merlins. Seaducks expected are Common Eiders, Long-tailed Ducks, Red-breasted Mergansers, and any of the three varieties of Scoters.

Participants should dress warmly as there is very little shelter at the Point. Please contact Don Reimer at 273-3146 if interested in participating. This Mid-coast Audubon Field Trip is offered to the public at no charge.

Participants will meet at the Point at 8:30 a.m.
