Camden — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine was the recent recipient of a $5,000 grant from the Bank of America Foundation.

The grant was to support the agency’s one-to-one youth mentoring program in six Maine counties. The agency serves more than 500 children in Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Penobscot, Somerset and Waldo counties.

“Bank of America has been a wonderful partner and supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mid-Maine for many years,” said CEO Alex Gaeth in a news release. “They have provided not only financial support but human resources to serve as board and committee members, mentors, school coordinators, and other volunteer roles as well.”

Todd Beacham, senior vice president/Global Commercial Banking for Bank of America, presented the check to Cathy Hardy, BBBSMM’s development director.
