Big Band Ball to Help Heat Homes

The Mondaynight Jazz Orchestra, pictured during a Belfast Summer Nights performance, will play a Help Heat Homes benefit Saturday night, March 9, at the Rockport Opera House.

Rockport — The popular Mondaynight Jazz Orchestra, also known as MoJO, will play swinging tunes to dance and listen to Saturday, March 9, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Rockport Opera House, 6 Central St.

The 14-piece Mondaynight Jazz Orchestra plays music from the big band era including hits by Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller and Harry James. MoJO’s members hail from all around the Midcoast.

Admission is $10, $15 for couples. Food and cash bar service will be available. Raffles will include donations from local businesses and the Emblem Club of Rockland. All proceeds will go to Penquis for the Help Heat Homes initiative, benefiting low income families and individuals in need of heating assistance.
