Better Bookkeeping Tips - Tracking Your Mileage
Looking for a new way to track your car/gas mileage expenses while on a trip? If you haven’t already found a mileage log app for your phone, or you’re no longer happy with the one you did download, it’s your lucky day! Check out the ones we found to meet our needs!
Free Android Apps:
1. TripLog – GPS Mileage Tracker
Home screen widget available.
Logs trips, fuel fill-ups and vehicle expense; has ability to take pictures of receipts with camera. Does monthly, quarterly, yearly vehicle tax deduction reports & logs. Has backup options AND that means you won’t lose data if you lose your phone!
- MilesTrac FREE
Quick and easy! Log mileage odometer readings and make notes for trips in one place. Then you can send a mileage report via e-mail (requires SD Card to generate the spreadsheet report)!
3. Another Option is to check out “Extra Mile” which is an App to download for $1.99.
iPhone Apps – There are too many to choose from! There’s a few lite versions that are FREE, while there are others that are $1.99 - $4.99, and there’s even a good selection that will work on both the New iPad and iPhones. To start, check out the $2.99 MileBug (iPhone/iPod touch) because it’s been downloaded (between regular and lite) 180,000 times and has lots of features. The other good option is $4.99 (iPad/iPhone) for XpenseTracker - Expense Tracker & Mileage Log.
As a last tid bit, our Smartphones can even track, record, and remind us about car maintenance – try a Free App called Car Maintenance Reminder Lite to see if it suits your fancy on Android/GooglePlay OR Car Minder Plus on iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch (just requires iOS 4.0 or later)!
