Benefit supper to benefit Wood, Seccareccio families

Hope — A barbecue is being held to benefit the families of two teens hit by a delivery truck while talking on the side of Route 235 in Waldoboro Aug. 1.

Tyler Wood, 15, of Rockport received massive head injuries and died a day later and his friend Antonio Seccareccio, 14, of Waldoboro was taken to the hospital by LifeFlight helicopter with a severe leg injuries, according to previously published reports.

More than 25 volunteers have come together to organize a benefit dinner and auction on Saturday, Sept. 13, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at South Hope Community Church, located on Route 17.

Proceeds from the event will help pay for funeral services for Wood and hospital costs for Seccareccio.

The dinner, which is by donation, includes chicken barbecue, pulled pork, coleslaw, baked beans, rolls, potluck dishes, homemade pies. An auction is also planned.

Donations can be made to The Tyler Wood Memorial Fund, c/o The First Bank P.O. Box 606 Rockland, ME 04841.

Who is over seeing the Tyler Wood Memorial fund as his mother is not a party to this? No one seems to know who is heading up this fund. If you do know please advise his mother.

Is there an address to whom donations can be sent if folks are unable to attend this event? Also to whom should a check be made out ?  Thank You  :-)
