Belfast Historical Society June 23 Program

“The Belfast and Moosehead Lake Railroad, It’s Past, Present and Future” is the topic for the Belfast Historical Society meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 23, in the Abbott Room at the Belfast Free Library. Executive Director Joe Feero and volunteer Larry Goldman will present railroad history and the long range plans for the railroads future. The railroad is a division of the Brooks Preservation Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting, restoring and maintaining former B&ML rolling stock, including locomotives, and to preserving the railroad corridor through Waldo County. The B&ML offers train rides and excursions, weekends and holidays, round trip from City Point Station located at 13 Oak Hill Road to Waldo, June - October.
