Basic Skills Skating Program

By Skating Association of Maine | Oct 17, 2012

The U.S. Figure Skating Basic Skills program was created to be the best beginning ice-skating program in the world. It is designed to serve the needs of both recreational and competitive skaters. The curriculum keeps skaters enthusiastic about learning from the time they begin lessons until the time they reach their goals. Whether they want Olympic fame or to simply enjoy the recreational benefits of skating, the Basic Skills Program is the place to start!

The Basic Skills program consists of eight levels (The Basic Eight) which includes elements that are fundamentals for the sport of hockey, Speed Skating, Figure Skating, and recreational skating.  The Skating Association of Maine offers Basic Skills Classes on Saturdays starting on October 20th at the Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport.  For more information, visit our website at www.maineskaters.com.
