Bad Penny turns up at VFW

Waldoboro — Whitefield-based country band Bad Penny will play a BYOB dance Saturday, Nov. 17 starting at 8 p.m. at the Soule-Shuman VFW Hall, 40 Mill St. Admission at the door is $8, $15 per couple.

Earl Blake is front and center, singing most of the lead vocals and playing electric and acoustic guitars. Blake has had the opportunity to jam with such players as Johnny Hyland, now a Nashville Regular. Troy Hanscom, guitar and vocals, has played bass for 25 years in the Northeast and Colorado. He has been teaching music for 15 years, owns a recording studio in central Maine and has recorded and produced several CDs. Filling out the band are Cathy Hanscom, Bruce Robertson and James Maney, a former Waldoboro resident and Medomak Valley High School graduate.
