Bad Penny, back by popular demand

Waldoboro — Country and country-rock band Bad Penny will return to play a BYOB dance Saturday, Jan. 19, starting at 8 p.m. at the Soule-Shuman VFW Hall, 40 Mill St. Admission at the door is $8, $15 per couple.

Earl Blake sings most of the lead vocals and plays electric and acoustic guitars; Blake has had the opportunity to jam with such players as Johnny Hyland, now a Nashville Regular. Troy Hanscom, guitar and vocals, has played bass for 25 years in the Northeast and Colorado. He has been teaching music for 15 years, owns a recording studio in central Maine and has recorded and produced several CDs. Filling out the band are Cathy Hanscom, Bruce Robertson and James Maney, a former Waldoboro resident and Medomak Valley High School graduate.
