Rockland — Marcie Howard from Sprouting Signers will lead a demo of her sign language class for children 18 months to 3 years old on Wednesday, June 11, at 11 a.m. at Coastal Children's Museum.

Using songs, activities and stories this workshop will give parents and caregivers a glimpse into the world of American Sign Language and also a view of what is going on in their little one’s mind, providing means for the child to more easily express his wants, needs, and desires.

Howard, a certified elementary educator and Signing Time Instructor, has been working with children for almost 20 years. In her classes, children and their family learn signs that are 100 percent American Sign Language, a visual, auditory and tactile language that is the third most used language in the US. More information on Howard’s classes and techniques visit her website at sproutingsigners.com.

This workshop is included in the price of admission for non-members and free for museum members. Space is limited so advanced sign is encouraged. To sign up email info@coastalchildrensmuseum.org or call the museum at 596-0300.
